5 simple ways to avoid stress on your wedding day | Seattle Wedding Planner | Wedding Wise

Wedding planning can be stressful. The months leading up your big day are often filled with long nights and complete exhaustion. After all this tireless planning, your wedding day deserves to be stress free!

We at Wedding Wise are here to help! We put together simple tips to reduce unnecessary stress and a few reminders to help capture every moment on your wedding day.

Pack A Few Nights Before

Let’s face it, time is never on your side when it comes to your wedding. There is so much going on leading up to your big day: rehearsal dinner, final guest counts, family and friends arriving in town… the list goes on and on. One of the most understated tips is to simply pack a few nights before your wedding. Having everything packed and ready sets the tone for your big day and will help prevent any last minute panic. Plan ahead and pack your bridal gifts, overnight bag, marriage certificate, guestbook, anything and everything needed for your wedding. You’ll be thankful you did.

Invest in a Wedding Planner

Whether you select a full design package or the day of coordination, wedding planners are crucial to a stress-free wedding day. Wedding planners have indispensable experience and can plan for details or unforeseen events to help your wedding run seamlessly. Planners also aide in the overall experience and atmosphere of your wedding as you, your family and your bridal party get to enjoy the day while we run about managing the details :) Happy night, happy life :) Getting a wedding planner is an investment well spent.

Take Pictures Before the Ceremony

Although some couples don’t want to see each other prior to walking down the aisle, there are major pros to having pictures taken before the wedding. The biggest upside is that it allows you more time to spend with your guests throughout the evening. Taking pictures is long and tedious for any bride and groom. Add in family and bridal party photos and you have a few long hours of wondering what is going on with the rest of your wedding guests and the party. In truth, you will be so excited you are finally married that the best segue into your married life is to enjoy it by surrounding yourself with the many friends and family that have traveled to see you. Get your pictures done first so you can truly bask in the beauty of the night.

Eat Your Dinner

Catering is one of the more expensive wedding investments. Couples typically have a dedicated tasting for their menu, choose exactly what they want to be served and spend a good portion of their budget on this food. For that reason, you deserve to eat it! Allow yourself 20 minutes to enjoy your meal (not to mention this will be your first meal as husband and wife). Eat it, enjoy it and remember it. Not only will it give you an extra boost of energy to continue the evening but it will also help soak up those 3 champagne glasses you had prior to dinner so you can still make it out to the dance floor:)

Cherish the Little Moments

What often surprises couples after their wedding day is how little moments, seldom discussed, are some of the most cherished and meaningful from their big day. Things like getting dressed with your wedding party (sometimes people from very different parts of your life) to signing the marriage certificate are moments that deserve to be cherished and remembered. Often times, there is such a hype surrounding the first look or walking down the aisle that you can loose sight in the little steps along the way. Although all moments are important, don’t forget that big or small each is to be cherished during your monumental day.
